The Let Property Campaign (LPC) is HMRC’s dedicated disclosure facility for landlords who have not fully reported their rental income in previous tax years. It offers a formal route to bring your tax affairs up to date and to resolve any mistakes voluntarily before HMRC identifies them. The LPC is open to individual landlords only, and applies to all forms of rental income including short term lets via Airbnb, or accidental landlords who are renting out a former home.

Over recent years, HMRC has significantly expanded its access to data on rental properties. Landlord information now comes from letting agents, local councils, deposit protection schemes, the Land Registry, mortgage lenders, and even short-let platforms.
